At deeply, we value our sense of community above all else. A place of belonging and connection with like-minded people. It was from these ideals, that the idea for a “deeply together retreat” was born.
Our first Deeply together surfing community retreat began on the morning of the 14th of July of 2021. For the first time, athletes, local heros and other crucial members of our deeply community came together.
During five days we had an extensive agenda organized. It would be days filled with surfing, training, connecting and relaxing.
Our guests arrived from all over, to finally come together at casa_molenga. A beautiful home located in the north of Portugal.
Our days began at 8:00am. Breakfast was served in the dining room, where people started to slowly show up, rubbing their eyes and stretching their sore muscles. We were presented with an extensive buffet where both sweet and savory options were available.
After our energy levels had been replenished, the call was given. It was time to grab our suits and boards and drive to the best peak of the day.
In the water, we could see shortboards, longboards and bodyboards. A true surfing community, united and happy.
On land we had our best photographers and supporters. During the day people would come in and out of water. Coming over to our beach base for some rest, water or food. We all know how that post surfing appetite feels like.
After surfing it was time to head back home. It was the perfect opportunity for a dip in the pool and a quick siesta before the afternoon activities.
At the end of the day, we always had a special guest ready to train us, and make use of whatever energy we had left.
Whether it was Yoga, movement or conditioning, we kept ourselves active every day of the week. Most of us had the opportunity to try a new modality. Did you join us for any of our instagram live sessions?
After such a long day, we can all agree that dinner was the most exciting part. For dinner, we were always greeted with an exceptional dinner prepared by planobhome.
The food was of the highest quality. At dinner both vegetarian and animal protein options were available. The perfect way to correctly nourish our bodies after such an energetic day, and to make sure we were ready for tomorrow.
After dinner we would drink a couple of beers, and reflect on the passing day. Did you know beer is a great post workout? As our eyelids began to feel heavy, we would slowly drift off to bed one by one, and rest for the next day.
