However, over the course of the years, wetsuit brands have become aware of the need for change. We are invested in continuing to develop more eco-friendly wetsuits for a greener and less impactful future.
Mineralprene: New Eco-Friendly Neoprene Formula
With the launch of our 2022 winter wetsuit collection, we have introduced our newest and most sustainable neoprene formula to date.
Mineralprene is manufactured using neglected oyster shells and limestone neoprene. The oyster shells are recycled and converted into oxide powder. This enables us to reduce the amount of limestone used in our wetsuit composition. As a result, we yield a more natural and comfortable foam rubber.
We Say No to Fossil Fuels
Eco Carbon black is another major ingredient found in our wetsuits. Tyres, being one of the most problematic sources of waste, contain a significant amount of fossil fuel derived carbon black. By recycling these tyres, we are able to incorporate eco carbon black into our wetsuits. This recycling process consumes more CO2 than it emits, reducing CO2 emissions by 72%.
Have a Positive Impact
The fabric found in our wetsuits is made from recycled plastic bottles. We add color by using a dope dyeing process. This significantly decreases the amount of chemicals and energy used in the manufacturing process of our wetsuits.
We use water based glue to seal our wetsuits. This removes the emission of volatile organic compounds.

At Deeply, we are not only committed to reducing neoprene derived waste, but also in developing neoprene free wetsuits.
Our Yulex natural wetsuit is an eco-friendly neoprene made exclusively from natural rubber. This neoprene alternative contains 63% USDA certified bio-based content.
Although our environmental footprint is still far from ideal, we are constantly working towards a more sustainable and environmentally conscious output. Ensuring we have a positive economic, environmental and social impact.
